Builders, renovation firms and trades such as electricians and plumbers are usually paid in stages — a deposit, payments as work progresses and a final invoice — and the follow-up happens in the evening, after a day on site. In RemindCash each stage is a receivable with its own due date and amount. Reminders go out in your business's name on your schedule, partial payments are recorded against the balance and the follow-up stops when a stage is paid.
How payments usually work
- A deposit before work starts, then stage or progress payments.
- A final invoice when the job is signed off.
- Homeowners who pay by transfer and business clients with approval steps.
- Small balances left open after a part payment.
A reminder schedule that fits
| Step | When | Tone |
|---|---|---|
| Heads-up | 3 days before | Friendly, stage and amount |
| Due today | On the due date | Neutral |
| First follow-up | 3 days after | Friendly |
| Second follow-up | 7 days after | Direct |
| Last follow-up | 14 days after | Firm and factual |
Setting it up in RemindCash
- Add the client with email, language and time zone.
- Create one receivable per stage — deposit, each progress payment, final invoice — with its amount and due date.
- Approve templates with the client's name, amount, due date and your payment link.
- Record payments and partial payments; the receivable stays open for any balance.
- Record a dispute when the client queries work, so reminders stop until it is resolved.
Example reminder
Good practice
- Agree stages, amounts and due dates in writing before work starts.
- Send stage reminders only after the stage is actually complete.
- Keep reminders factual; formal claims for unpaid work follow your country's rules and are outside reminder emails.
What RemindCash does not do
It does not quote, invoice, track jobs or materials, apply late fees or collect payments. SMS and WhatsApp are not open yet.
FAQ
